Welcome to Miss Centurion High Schools

  • The much acclaimed Miss Centurion Schools competition was born in 2006 and is the brainchild of well-known International designer Mr Dennis Lloyd, the previous Ms United Nations Finalist Mrs Mada Janse Van Rensburg as well as the owner of the well-known Glam Light Modelling School, Ms Yolandi Rossouw.

  • Miss Centurion High and Primary Schools is a modelling competition focussed on the youth in the Centurion area.  The competition has the following three main aims:
    • To provide ten less fortunate Secondary School scholars with a once in a life-time opportunity: Their own dream dress, designed by an international designer, to wear to their Matric Farewell along with nails, make-up, accessories and photo shoots.
    • To provide ten less-fortunate Primary School Children with a birthday party of their choice with 5 friends.
    • To crown the most suitable Miss Centurion Schools in three age categories and to provide a platform and exposure to these models that will enable them to explore and or pursue a career in modeling.

  • Miss Centurion Schools is presented as follows:
    • All schools in the Centurion area are contacted to promote the competition and all scholars are welcome to enter the competition. All schools are visited where a selection process are conducted to select semi-finalists.  These semi-finalists are put through another selection process from where the finalists are selected.
    • The final event is hosted in the form of a competition where a reputable and knowledgeable judging panel will select Miss Centurion Primary and High Schools. Former judges include Christina Storm, Nicole Flint, Dunay Nortje, Kurt Darren, Dennis Lloyd and others.

  • Through a number of omitted and dedicated sponsors the final event ensures  great prizes including a Modelling contract from alternating modeling agencies in Cape Town.

  • Miss Centurion Schools’, as mentioned, is mainly a Charity event. Since it’s inception in 2006 the event has made a huge contribution to the local community as well as the dreams of a number of scholars since 2006. A former winner of the competition, Ms Chante Jantjies went on to be crowned Miss SA Teen in the same year that she won Miss Centurion Schools.  She was subsequently also crowned as Miss World Teen in 2011. Bryoni Natalie Govender last years winner was crowend as Miss BFG Teenager 2012.

  • Miss Centurion Schools, besides assisting the less fortunate scholars on their big night, is also actively involved in other community work and their projects includes a number of Charities.  The bearer of the Miss Centurion High Schools crown has an automatic responsibility on her shoulders to actively promote charitable causes.

  • Miss Centurion Schools, which is presented for the seventh year running, is a valued and trusted event throughout the Centurion area.  The most reliable indication of the difference that Miss Centurion Schools have made in the Centurion community can most accurately be voiced by the intended beneficiaries. Schools in the area can be contacted to provide feedback on the value that the competition adds to scholars’ lives.
